General Information
Our philosophy centers around the belief that children are inquisitive, capable learners who thrive in an environment where they can explore, play, and build relationships. We support learning through exploration, inquiry-based projects, and open-ended play. We emphasize an inclusive, supportive, and stimulating learning environment that fosters creativity, problem-solving, and independence.
Our curriculum is guided by the United Kingdom’s Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS), the Australian Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and the Reggio Emilia Approach. These frameworks support holistic development and emphasize learning through play, creativity, and exploration.
Curriculum and Learning Approach
Our play-based curriculum for the daycare/playgroup is designed for the holistic development of children. We focus on fun, exploration, and discovery while nurturing independence and problem-solving. Activities include:
- Storytelling, puppet shows, rhymes, and music for language development.
- Learning centers for creativity, critical thinking, and experiential learning.
- Different forms of play (free play, role play, dramatic play) for social and emotional development.
- Physical activities that develop fine motor and gross motor skills.
In the nursery, we emphasize learning through play. Children engage in a variety of activities that integrate foundational literacy, numeracy, STEM, and creative arts. Our curriculum includes:
- Storytelling, rhymes, and phonics for literacy.
- Pre-math concepts for numeracy development.
- STEM activities to encourage inquiry-based learning and problem-solving.
- Music, expressive arts, and physical development to support creativity and gross motor skills.
